We have a new addition to the Atkins Tribe! My adorable little nephew Cole. He was born last week and he's happy and healthy and just beautiful.

I haven't seen him since he's been home, but I did go for a short visit while Mommy, Daddy and baby were recouping at the Hospital. Thad and Jenny were kind enough to let me take some photos while I was there.

What an absolute blessing! Nice job Thad and Jenny!

Ten fingers and Ten toes!! What a beautiful baby boy!

We were all very excited to meet Cole.... I think the most excited of the bunch were big brother Trey and big sister Lilly. They were beside themselves! I think they'll be good helpers for Mommy!

We love you Cole! We're so happy you're here, what a joy it will be to watch you grow up!

Senior Kyle

Last weekend I had a great time photographing Kyle and his friend Sean in a beautiful park here in King Co. It's a great experience to shoot 2 friends together as they make each other laugh and you can capture that REAL smile in process.

Here are some images from Kyle's shoot.

Though the sun can sometimes be a challenge to work with I much prefer to shoot outside utilizing the natural light, it makes for nice facial contour and more even skin tones.

Meredith & Alex Engaged

Well one of my nearest and dearest friends (since we were 2 years old) got engaged this year and will be happily wed this coming November. As my wedding present to her and her hubby-to-be Alex I gave them the gift of engagement photos.

Here are a few from the session, enjoy!

They were getting all snuggly-wuggly on the bench.

Props to Alex for picking out such a beautiful ring!

Meredith told me that Alex hates having his picture taken, I would have never guessed! He was such a good sport!

Other than the weather being a little hot and sticky we had a beautiful day in a beautiful garden.

I think this one is my favorite!

Seattle Summer Solstice Parade

Oh what a lovely and colorful bunch of people! I've never been to the Seattle Summer Solstice Parade until this year. There were a lot of really fun (and free) people there. It turned out to be a beautiful and fun day!

Grayland Beach Camping Trip

A couple of weekends ago I had the opportunity to go camping with my family and some friends to Grayland beach. As usual I brought my camera and was able to capture some cute images.

My nephew and niece Trey and Lilly givin' some Love.

I dressed up in a mask and fairy wings to surprise my niece Lilly. She thought I was pretty silly!

Little Jordan

I went to a Cinco Dey Mayo party with some friends and one of my friends had her little boy Jordan there. He is such a ball of pure energy!! So cute too! He took a liking to me and wanted to cuddle on my lap with me. He is such a sweet boy :)

His Mom said I could take some pictures of him. Isn't he a cutie?

I'm not sure if he had food in his mouth or if he was just making a funny face.

He had a pretty adorable smile!

Dog Day in May!

One of my long time friends works for the Pierce County Parks Department, and she puts on these wonderful dog walks every year to benefit the different programs that are run by her department. In the springtime the event is called Dog Day in May and there's another event in October called the Woof Woof Walk.

When you register online you get a bag of goodies, you get to have your picture taken with your furry pal by Sportraits and get to let your dog mingle and make new friends on a nice long walk through the park.

This is their second year of running the dog walk and I first began photographing this event for my dear friend while I was still in photography school. I've been doing it since then :) It's a fun time and I get to meet and make new friends while getting some great shots of all the different doggies that show up.

In love with Aperture

So as a photo retoucher I've been introduced to several different programs for that particular purpose. For my own photography and projects I used to use Adobe Lightroom, but it seemed rather slow to me at times, making things more time-consuming and frustrating.

I decided to play with Aperture a bit. I've had this program for quite some time and took one very short class that Apple put on, but hadn't touched it since because it just seemed like there were so many bells and whistles involved and too much opportunity to get confused.

I am absolutely in love with Aperture right now. There are some things that I wish Aperture did that other programs do, but for the most part it's making my job a lot faster and a lot easier.

I especially like the album layouts they have and the option to buy the album right there.

I'm working on some different layouts for a mini-album of my neice Lilly Jo. I think they're coming along nicely so far :)
